It was constructed in 1843 in dedication to the Chinese deity Tua Pek Kong, literally meaning ‘Grand Uncle’. Various traditional festivals are held here, including the famous Wang Kang Festival to commemorate the dead.

A stairway brings visitors to the main entrance of the temple, which houses a large joss-stick urn.
