Kuala Lumpur means ‘muddy confluence’. The word ‘kuala’ gives the meaning of a point where two rivers join together. ‘Lumpur’ on the other hand means ‘mud’. Back in 1824, Sungai Lumpur was one of the most important settlements that produce tin.
