Kuala Lumpur's science museum, or National Science Museum as the official title first opened in 1996 by Tun Dr Mahathir. The science museum is located on 8 acres of manicured gardens at Bukit Kiara in north-west Kuala Lumpur and housed in a green glass building topped with a geodesic dome which is illuminated in various colours at night. It is also known as the Pusat Sains Negara, Malaysia's first overhead freshwater aquarium, filled with 32 species of local freshwater fish at main exhibits. The Centre contains over 1,000 interactive, hands-on exhibits arranged over 12 galleries which are designed to allow visitors to learn by experience. Many visitors include students and families come here to learn and gain knowledge about science and arts.
It is easy to get here because it is located conveniently at Kuala Lumpur. If using car or taxi, it takes around 15 minutes to get to National Science Museum and if there are tourists from KLIA International Airport, it takes around 50 minutes to arrive by using Kuala Lumpur- Putrajaya highway and ELITE highway. There is also bus service - RapidKL bus no. U83 from KL Sentral but it seems to run at irregular hours and not at all at weekends.

Thinking machines brings you to the advancement of robots, computers and other telecommunications technology that has changed the way we live whereas Digital Lifestyle shows the modern day living as a result of the digital technology. Kids World attracts students of primary and lower secondary schools by applying the concept of ‘Me and My World’. The gallery is able to stimulate children creative minds, and interest. Inventor's corner also shows the inventions that have made an impact globally to the lives of the people. The opening Hours is from 9am to 5pm daily (last admission 4pm) and it is closed on Friday.
