Serving a single line that forms part of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line, it owns the station code SBK16 and is an underground station linked to the elevated LRT station of the same name via a 65-meters walkway consisting of pedestrian bridges and escalators. Both mentioned stations are connected at their respective concourse levels to allow smooth transfer for the commuters planning to utilize both stations. In addition to that, there is also a bus terminal with buses going to Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Subang Jaya as well as a RapidKL office nearby.
Named after the famous tourist attraction of the same name, Central Market is not far off, in addition to the recognized Petaling Street or Chinatown of Kuala Lumpur. Opened to the public in 17th July of 2017 in conjunction of the opening of the second phase of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT line, it is the only MRT station expected to serve the Pasar Seni area in addition to the already established and operational Pasar Seni LRT station. Prior to the station’s existence, its site is where the Klang Bus Stand, Plaza Wawasan Complex and the UO Shopping Centre located, in which all three had been demolished in 2012 to give way to the construction of the station.
The station entrance has a unique design that is based on the quartz commonly found at Bukit Tabur quartz range, with the whole interior design is based on the theme of confluence which refers to the confluence between the rivers of Gombak and Klang, which is interestingly located next to Masjid Jamek LRT station.
