The Carnival Waterpark is one of the popular tourist destinations in Kedah. It is located in the town of Sungai Petani and with its strategic location, it has become a popular spot for both locals and even tourists from outside the state, especially from Penang and Perlis. The Carnival Waterpark has lots of water-based activities such as two types of slides; the high speed and tube, a lazy river, and such. Apart from these, the waterpark is also has a handful of non-water-based activities such as wall climbing, horseback riding, and mini golf among others. Apart from the typical facilities such as a restaurant and a gift shop, the Waterpark also has its own swimwear shop so no need to worry if one does not bring their swimsuit to the waterpark as they can get one there and then. The Carnival Waterpark opens every day except on Wednesday with a price ticket during the weekdays are RM 20 for an adult and RM 18 for children, senior citizen, and also the government servants. These prices are only applicable for MyKad holder.
The Carnival Waterpark is 63 kilometres away from the capital city of Kedah, Alor Setar and it will take almost an hour to drive via the North-South Highway. It is only five kilometres from Sungai Petani town and it is accessible via the Badlishah Route.
Several coach companies have daily trips to Sungai Petani from the Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) Kuala Lumpur. The ticket price starts from RM 38 up to RM 45 per one-way depending on the coach companies.
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Electric Train Service (KTM ETS) provides a direct train service from Kuala Lumpur to the town of Sungai Petani. From KL Sentral, the ticket is RM 62 for the Gold Class while RM 82 for the Platinum Class. Gold and Platinum Class differs with the steps taken by the train during the trip to Sungai Petani with the former has more stops compare to the later. KTM also provides train service from Ipoh, Taiping, and Batu Gajah with each has different fares.
This recreational park is located inside the Gunung Jerai Forest Reserve. It is one of the most popular camping spots among the locals of Sungai Petani and Kedah. It is located less than twenty kilometres away from Sungai Petani town and it is always full of visitors especially during school holidays and weekends. The recreational park has a river running through it, the Sungai Tupah, which originates from the Gunung Jerai. The park is best to be enjoyed with bathing in its refreshing and cooling waters while appreciating the greeneries encircling the area. The park is equipped with public toilets, a Muslim praying area, and also a small shop selling snacks and drinks.
Another ecotourism in the state of Kedah. It is a complex with complete infrastructures going through the mangrove trees along the Merbok River. It was built in 2009 and has been a must-go destination for nature lovers. This gallery is fitted with a special wooden walkway that is a kilometre long at the complex for the visitors to get as close as possible to the vast swamp sea forest reserve. There are more than 30 species of mangrove trees with more than 80 species of birds living in the habitat. The Mangrove Gallery is just ten kilometres away from the town.
