By Plane

From Kuala Lumpur, get your flight either at KLIA2 or Subang Airport. Sungai Petani is in Kedah but it is nearer to Penang International Airport, Bayan Lepas. From the airport, get a taxi to take you to Tesco Sungai Petani.

Mount Jerai

Mount Jerai is the highest peak in Kedah, with the height of 1,175 m that is equivalent to 3,854 feet from sea level. The mountain is between Kuala Muda district, which is a few kilometres away from Tesco Sungai Petani, and Yan district. At the top of the mountain, there are beautiful gardens, resort and restaurants. Tourists will also get to read the history of Mount Jerai from the information board up there. The height of Mount Jerai allowed Indian traders and seafarers to use the mountain as a navigational point more than 1500 years ago. The mountain was considered sacred by the ancient Malays so they built temples from the foothills up to the summit, known as Bujang Valley. It is not only a temple, yet it is the richest archaeological site in Malaysia.
