The staffs are friendly and helpful, the room is large and clean. However the location is far from the center and jetty which need to pay 50rm/way/2pax by car to driver and took about half an hour to reach the center.

They made us wait to check in so long. I checked in last. It was after the check-in time. The room even was the worst. The bathroom pee smelled terrible, and the toilet was leaking.

Worst experience ever. This is place is located in middle of nowhere and super unclean and old ghost apartment. Good luck if you come here to relax, I could not get at least one hour sleep in the 1night stay, and left the place first thing next morning. Horrible place.

About

The Rompin District is a district located in the southeastern corner of Pahang, Malaysia. Rompin is currently belongs to Rompin District Council. The district covers an area of 5,296 km and located 130 kilometres from Kuantan, the capital city of Pahang. It is bordered to the north by Pekan District, to the west by Bera District, to the south by the state of Johor, and to the east by the South China Sea. The main town is Kuala Rompin and other town located in the district is Bandar Muadzam Shah. Main tourist attractions in Rompin are the island resort of Tioman Island. Kuala means an estuary in Malay language. As the name suggested, Kuala Rompin is located next to the Rompin River.

This once slept village used to be well known for its watermelon plantation, blue pincer prawns and offshore commercial fishing. Now you can find convenience shops, 7-11, and even fast food Kentucky fried chicken. Next to Kuala Rompin is one of the world’s oldest rainforest, the Endau Rompin national park. This 200-million-years-old jungle has many hidden flora and fauna including the endanger Malaya rhinoceros, tapir, sun bear, tiger etc. We can occasional spot wild boar frolicking near the hotel or a troop of long tail/pigtail macaque monkey by the roadside. A huge monitor lizard is also a common sight. Even the jungle bird, Pier Hornbill is commonly spotted.

How to Get There

By Bus

There is a bus running from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Rompin. Bus from KL departed from Terminal Bersepadu Tasik Selatan, you can reach there by taxi, LRT or train from KL Sentral.

Tourist Attractions

Tioman Island

Tioman is in Pahang within the Mersing Marine Park, which contains fewer commercial islands such as Sibu Island. The primary gateway Mersing is in Johor. In the 1970s, Time magazine selected Tioman as one of the world’s most beautiful islands. The densely forested island is still sparsely inhabited. Also it is surrounded by numerous white coral reefs, making it a haven for scuba divers from around the region. You will find enormous monitor lizards across the island and in the kampongs you will often see them sifting through the rubbish piles looking for food. There is also an abundance of domestic cats. Rubbish control on the island is still in a development stage, apart from in some of the resorts. So expect some less than pristine circumstances, but there is no doubt that at June 2011 places such as Air Batong are making progress on this front, encouragement required.
