The room is very spacious! The staffs are very friendly and helpful. As for the breakfast buffet, the price is cheaper than any other 4-stars hotels, but since its cheaper, might need to lower your expectations. The cleanliness of the pool is a bit low, cause you can feel the sand at the bottom of the pool, and there is algae at the walls of the pool in between the tiles. But putting that aside, it was a nice stay for us and we decided to extend our stay for 1 more night!

About

Pekan is thought to exist since the time of Old Pahang Kingdom. Its old name was Inderapura, also commonly known as ‘Pura’ which in turns means city and the Malays called it ‘Pekan’. According to old folks tale, a flowering plant named Bunga Pekan used to grow wild at the banks of Pahang River, and the town therefore named after the flower. The Bunga Pekan flower is said to be white like jasmine. Other sources say the name Pekan came from the word “Pekan Sehari” which means Sunday market, whereby the word “Sehari” was omitted and the locals simply called it “Pekan”.

Pekan is the Royal Town of Pahang, Malaysia. It is located on the banks of the Pahang River about 50 km south of Kuantan and 280 km from Kuala Lumpur. Pekan has eleven sub-districts, which are Pekan town, Bebar, Ganchong, Kuala Pahang, Langgar, Lepar, Pahang Tua, Penyor, Pulau Manis, Pulau Rusa and Temal.

How to Get There

By Plane

There are flights to Kuantan provided by Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia. From the airport, guests may hail up a taxi to Pekan.

By Car

People driving from Kuala Lumpur may drive through the east coast highway exiting at the Gambang Interchange to the Tun Razak Highway. The Tun Razak Highway links Segamat and Kuantan respectively. Thus, it is also an alternative for people coming from Johor. From Johor, Pekan is accessible by a scenic coastal road that runs through Kuala Rompin.

Pekan is accessible from Kuantan by three routes, namely by the Tun Razak Highway, or using Jalan Pekan on Federal Route 3 or taking the Tanjung Lumpur Highway that passes Tanjung Lumpur, Penor and Ceruk Paloh along the way.
