Mara University of Technology Terengganu, Dungun Campus is one of the first branches of Universiti Teknologi MARA. This campus provides excellent opportunities for bumiputeras all over the country to pursue higher education and attain higher economic and social well-being. Mara University of Technology Terengganu was founded in July 1975 in Dungun, Terengganu. This campus has 17 acres of land, which was a relic of a leased Iron Ore Company of the State Economic Development Corporation (PERMINT).

In year 1978, laying the foundation stone for the permanent campus of the university was completed by the late Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah in Sura Hujung. The results of the implementation of the fourth phase and physical development in Malaysia Plan, now Mara University of Technology Terengganu, Dungun Campus has developed the whole area next to the beach and 500.00 square meters across the lake.

How to Get There

By Plane

You can board flights from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Sultan Mahmud Airport, Kuala Terengganu. From Kuala Terengganu airport you take a public bus or taxi to Mara University of Technology Terengganu and travel time about 1 hour 32 minutes.

By Bus

To reach Mara University of Technology Terengganu, you can take air-conditioned coaches from Kuala Lumpur and any other part of the country and stop at Kuala Dungun. From Kuala Dungun you can take public bus or taxi to the university and the journey takes 10 minutes from Kuala Dungun.

By Car

If you travel from Kuala Lumpur you may follow Karak Highway to East Coast Highway and exit Dungun. The driving takes approximately 3 hours 30 minutes. Continue your journey for another 10 minutes to reach Mara University of Technology Terengganu.

Dungun Museum

If you want to know more about Dungun district, Dungun Museum is an ideal place to visit. The museum is located in the Dungun district of Terengganu. The museum acts as an illustrator and exhibits artifacts on the history of the Dungun district and its surroundings. Among the interesting items exhibited at the Dungun District Museum are artifacts taken from the Wanli wreckage which was found outside Tanjung Jara Beach in 1997.

Tenggol Island

Tenggol Island is another fascinating diving destination which is situated only 45 minutes from the coast of Kuala Dungun in the southern part of Terengganu state. It is a small island only 3 kilometers long and 2 kilometers wide. Most people visit the Tenggol Island for its amazing diving where there are 20 dive sites around the island. Non-divers could enjoy some snorkeling around the island.
