Claytan Ceramics Factory Store was founded by the late Mr. Tan Soon Heng, a native Teochew from the southern province of Guangdong, China in 1920 when he came to Malaysia during the 1st World War. In 1935, he set up a small plant of 20 persons to produce subsoil pipes for the Public Works Department and the Health Department in Malaya and Singapore, and latex cups for rubber estates in the southern region. Claytan is the only pioneer in the ceramic industry in Malaysia and the most diversified manufacturer of ceramic products consisting of sanitary ware in two types of body (vitreous china and fire clay), tableware in four types of body (earthenware, vitreous china, stoneware and fine china) and two types of vitrified clay pipes (standard VCP's, and jacking pipes).

It produces only world-class high quality ceramic products and 70% of the Group’s products exported to Australia, Japan, Europe, United Kingdom and USA. The company also has received many awards such as The Brand Laureate - The Grammy Awards for Branding, Certification of ISO 9001: 2008, Malaysia Green Building Confederation, Australian Standard Certificate and Malaysia Good Design Mark Awards.

By Plane

There are daily flights to Senai International Airport at Johor Bahru. Once you reach at the airport, it takes around 50 minutes to arrive at this factory store by using North-South highway.

Situated only 10 minute drive away from Ayer Hitam exit, it comprises 4 sections which are landmarks, leisure corner, playground and agricultural.
