Tampin is a unique city located in Tampin District, Negeri Sembilan, however a part of the town spreads over into the neighbouring state Melaka. The Negeri Sembilan side of the city is governed by Tampin District Council while the Melaka side which is known as Pulau Sebang is governed by Alor Gajah Municipal Council. The name ‘Tampin’ is originated from the container or pouch plaited from pandanus fronds. The containers were used to keep condiments like shrimp pastes and dodol. This green city is scenically framed by Gunung Datuk and Gunung Tampin at the southern end of the Titiwangsa Range. Located in the heart of the town are vibrant shop houses and coffee shops that you can visit.
Tampin is accessible by land transportations. To get to the destination from Kuala Lumpur, drive along North-South Expressway and reach your destination in about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
