Cameron Highlands is located at Pahang and occupies an area of 712 square kilometres. Based on Sir William Cameron in 1885, the outpost consists of three mukims or subdistricts which are Ringlet, Tanah Rata and Ulu Telom. Its eight settlements are Ringlet, Tanah Rata (the administrative centre), Brinchang, the Bertam Valley, Kea Farm, Tringkap, Kuala Terla and Kampung Raja. These places are situated at elevations ranging from 1,100 metres (3,600 ft) to 1,600 metres (5,200 ft) above sea level. Ringlet is the first township along the Cameron Highlands stretch from Tapah which makes the most established gateway to this resort destination from Kuala Lumpur via North-South Highway. Located about 45 kilometres away from Tapah exit, this little countryside town is a home to a community of farmers, small-time business operators and migrant agricultural workers surrounded by numerous vegetable farms hidden behind the hills.

Visitors can find many attractions nearby such as Sultan Abu Bakar Dam, a large ochre-coloured lake that supplies some of the water in Cameron Highlands, before reaching Habu, a neighbouring agricultural and residential district where the famous Boh Tea Plantation resides in the valley. Also located next to Ringlet town is Bertam Valley, a rural agricultural settlement that forms an alternative gateway to Cameron Highlands from Kuala Lipis or Raub via Sungai Koyan through Pos Betau. The mean annual temperature of most places at Cameron Highlands is about 18 °C (64 °F). During the day, the temperature seldom rises over 25 °C (77 °F) and at night, it can drop to as low as 9 °C (48 °F) at the higher reaches.
From Kuala Lumpur city centre, it usually takes around 2 hours and 45 minutes to reach Ringlet, Cameron Highlands by using North- South highway. The duration of time is depends on traffic since this place is popular among local and international tourists. There is also another option to come here by using Route 102 which takes another 1 hour.
The Boh Tea Gardens can be accessed using an 8 kilometres narrow route that starts from Habu district, 4 kilometres after Ringlet town or 6 kilometres away from Tanah Rata. Situated 23 minutes away from Ringlet, Boh is the largest tea plantation in Cameron Highlands, with two sister estates with its neighbour Fairlie Garden and Sungai Palas in Brinchang which is about 20 kilometres away. The main estate in Habu is a popular tourist attraction with a functioning factory publicly open and visitors may have the opportunity to watch the whole process of making tea. Besides that, there are shopping gallery, English cafe, viewpoints along the tea fields and even a small lodge for overnight accommodation.
Gunung Brinchang is the second highest mountain located in Cameron Highlands after Gunung Irau at 2000 meters above sea level. The watchtower near the mountain can be climbed for a magnificent view of Cameron Highlands and beyond looking at all directions including Perak and Pahang states. Nestled around 32 minutes away from Ringlet, visitors can also climb Brinchang Mountain through a jungle trail that starts near Brinchang town. Visitors can witness a signboard that indicates the start of jungle walk No 1 and may enter the forest and you will soon be on the 3 kilometres trail that leads up to the peak. The hike is suitable for fit people and the trail marked by ribbons and red markings on trees. There are warnings for hikers such as if the trail seems to end suddenly, visitors are advised to look carefully behind and some route may be obscured by dense foliage or happens to break into a near vertical climb across tree trunks that makes it hard to notice. On another hand, the easiest way to reach the summit of this mountain is by using car.
