One twin bed. I naturally thought it's for two persons sharing one bed. S***. Misleading.

It is not a lodge and cafe.. it is just a small lodge.. The room for three is too small! and not cozy at all.. the bathroom door is broken and let out loud noises.. there is no mirror at all... none in the room, bathroom or even the entire lodge.. no trash bin in the room🤦🏻‍♀️ water flow is too slow.

While my experience staying here in 2016 was good, the experience last week wasn't. Maybe it was the fact that I was in the ground floor room. The room isn't thoroughly clean. During the day, you can hear people walking literally outside the room/bathroom. At night there are kittens meowing and running around. This place also lacks security. Anybody can just walk into the hotel area as the front door is unlocked and no one at the front desk at times. The only lock in the room is just the doorknob lock. If you don't mind that, then it's value for money.

About

Chukai, also known by the name of Kemaman City is a mukim and capital of Kemaman District, Terengganu. The name "Chukai" or cukai means 'taxes' in Malay. The town is so named due to its position near the estuary of the Kemaman River whereby taxes and levies were imposed on riverine traffic during the British colonial period. It is also the biggest town in southern Terengganu and the population is over 170,000. The position between the state capitals of Kuantan and Kuala Terengganu as well as the distance to the oil town of Kerteh has turned Chukai into a major commercial hub for the region.

How to Get There

A beautiful stretch of beach in Kemaman acts as a sanctuary or home to a turtle sanctuary where turtle are collected and are hatched and the hatchlings safely sent to sea, away from predators and poachers. The Department of Fisheries Malaysia, BP and WWF-Malaysia have developed this sanctuary to be a model turtle conservation centre in Malaysia. The Ma’ Daerah turtle hatchery is open to all and is an important resource on turtle conservation and where anyone can come and learn about turtles and their roles in our marine ecosystem. The Turtle and Marine Ecosystem Centre also has been set up to act as a conservation reserve for these turtles. On a different note, most part of the beaches is safe for swimming although some are restricted by the Fisheries Department for turtle conservation purposes.
