Tegal is the name of an autonomous region in Central Java, which runs along the North Coast line (Pantura), precisely about 165 kilometers west of Semarang. The city is so strategically connecting the regional and national economic channels of Pantura region from west to east (Jakarta - Surabaya) and vice versa.
The position is quite close to make migrants from the city of Semarang generally ride the train to visit Tegal. Both cities are connected by a rail line through the relation of Semarang Poncol Station (SMC) - Tegal Station (TG). This land trip usually takes about 2 - 2.5 hours each way.
Semarang Poncol Station
Poncol Station was established in 1914 with the ownership status in the hands of SCS (Semarang-Cheribon Stoomtram Maatschappij). Now, this station is under the management of PT. KAI (Persero) Daop 4 Semarang. Semarang Poncol Station is the second largest station in Semarang, after Semarang Tawang Station.

Tegal Station
Tegal Station includes a large railway station located at the western end of Daop 4 Semarang. The address of the station is recorded at Jalan Semeru number 16, Slerok, Tegal Timur, Tegal - Central Java 52125. The location is about 100 meters east of Tegal Town Square (Alun-alun Tegal).
