I guess I didn't understand what a 2-star hotel is. There's a reason for this. On the plus side, the room was large, the beds quite comfortable (but one, oddly, creaked), the sheets clean-though why exactly the sheet was on top of the blanket is beyond me. The air conditioner worked, the bathroom was relatively clean and functional. No wifi in the room. And I never caught a glimpse of the purported swimming pool. The 2 armchairs in the room had clearly not been cleaned since they were put in there, and the other furniture is old, maybe less than clean too. "Spartan" is the best adjective. But. Twin beds are hard to find in Probolinggo, and the location of the hotel is very good-food stalls outside at night, restaurants a couple of hundred meters away. The price point can't be beat either-IDR200,000. And despite what Traveloka says, yes, the hotel accepts credit cards for payment.
