With its kid-friendly attractions such as Underwater World Langkawi, Rice Garden Museum, and Kiki Club at Meritus Pelangi Resort & Spa, it is just a 10-minute drive from Langkawi International Airport. Pantai Cenang's magnificent beach, with white sands and clear waters, is also great for sunbathing and exciting water sports like jet skiing and parasailing.
• Black Sand Beach Langkawi is about four kilometres southwest of Tanjung Rhu Beach. The beach offers memorable photo opportunities and a quiet retreat from often crowded areas of the island. Despite its name, the beach is, in reality, a mixture of black and white sand, which some locals claim is the result of a centuries-old curse laid by a mermaid because a fisherman had stolen her ring.
