• Nagashima Resort - Nagashima Resort is one of Nagoya's major holiday destinations. It consists of five major recreational facilities: the amusement park Nagashima Spaland, a water park, a hot spring complex, an outlet shopping mall and a flower park called Nabana no Sato. The resort is situated on a long piece of land surrounded by rivers and the sea; it is well known as Nagashima or "long island."
• Nagoya Castle – Nagoya Castle was built as the seat of one of the ruling Tokugawa family's three branches, the Owari branch, at the beginning of the Edo Period. As such, it was one of the country's largest castles, and the castle town around it eventually grew to become the fourth largest town in Japan. There are two rings of moats and imposing walls with corner towers in the park surrounding the castle. During the cherry blossom season, which typically peaks in late March or early April, it becomes an attractive hanami spot.
• Korankei - Korankei is a valley near Nagoya, one of the best autumns colour spots in the area of Chubu. The valley is formed by Mount Iimori, 254 meters high, on which Kojakuji Temple sits. Kojakuji's head priest planted some maple trees along the entrance to the temple in the 17th century, leading many local people to do the same in the area. Today, the fruits of these past efforts can be seen by tourists to Korankei in the form of an excellent autumn scenery that peaks every year around mid to late November.
