The legend of Roro Jonggrang, which is the background to the construction of Prambanan Temple, is a romantic drama story that is very beautiful to be staged.

This story begins with the defeat of Prabu Damarmoyo by Prabu Boko, Princess Rorojonggrang's father. With this defeat, he told his son about Bandung. Bandung, who was very angry, finally challenged Prabu Boko to war and defeated him. At that time, Bandung saw Roro Jonggrang, a beautiful king's daughter and fell in love with her. However, when Roro Jonggrang found out that Bandung was the killer of his father, Roro Jonggrang had the cunning intention of playing with Bandung by asking him to build 1,000 temples if he wanted to ask for her hand.

This is where disaster emerged, Bandung, assisted by Bondowoso and the devil soldiers, failed to build 1,000 temples. Because of this cunning and deceit, Bandung Bondowoso finally condemned Jonggrang to become a statue in fulfillment of the number of 1,000 temples.
