Cameron Highlands has been among the best local vacationing spots in Malaysia, among Malaysians and even foreigners. It is located in Pahang, high up in the mountain range. Since the Highlanders Hotel is located in Cameron Highlands, the transportations to there are limited. The best and easiest way to travel to the Highlanders Hotel is by driving. For those who are driving from Kuala Lumpur, the trip will take just a little bit above three hours via the North-South Highway and exit at Tapah before continuing via the Federal Route 59 to reach Cameron Highlands and also Highlanders Hotel. There is also an option to take the express buses from most states in Peninsular Malaysia. The express bus from Kuala Lumpur will depart from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan with the trip will take about five hours to complete. The ticket starts from RM 35 one-way. The bus will stop at the Terminal Bus Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands, which is just 300 meters away from the hotel. These two are pretty much the only way to travel to Cameron Highlands. In Tanah Rata itself, however, there are shuttle buses that go around from one town to another. This shuttle buses are really helpful to go around and the fares are cheap.
There are several types of rooms available at the Highlanders Hotel. All of the rooms have a free cancellation policy; guests may cancel their bookings without being forced to pay for the cancellation. All of the rooms in the Highlanders Hotel have free Wi-Fi connections, available to all of the guests staying there. The rooms all have private bathrooms with free toiletries. Complimentary bottled water are also provided together with daily housekeeping. The first type of the room at the Highlanders Hotel is the Deluxe Double that comes with a price tag of RM 110 net for a night. The room has 129-sqft of space with one Queen bed. The Deluxe Double has the view of the city. A bigger room than this is the Deluxe Triple that can fit three people comfortably. It comes at RM 150 a night with one Queen-sized bed and a Twin-sized bed. The Family Suite of the Highlanders Hotel is at RM 300 a night and it has 800-sqft of space. The suite can fit three Queen-sized beds and two single-sized beds, which makes it perfect for a big family to stay there. The biggest room in the Highlanders Hotel is the Deluxe Apartment. The price for this apartment starts from RM 300 a night. Though it has an astounding 1000-sqft of space, the apartment only fits two Queen-sized beds and one Single-sized bed, thus giving the guests a lot of extra spaces.
The Highlanders hotel has its own restaurant that provides meals throughout the day, including breakfast. The breakfast service of the hotel does not include in the rooms’ price. For those who want to dine-in for breakfast, there will be a surcharge applied. A vacation in Cameron Highlands is not complete without at least one visit to a strawberry farm. One of the popular strawberry farms is the Big Red Strawberry Farm, just fifteen minutes away from the hotel. At this farm, visitors can visit the farm where the strawberries are grown hydroponically. During the strawberry season, visitors can experience picking their own strawberries from the farm. Anyone who wished to do so will be charged RM 25 for 500g worth of strawberries. There are other plants and vegetables available at the farm. The farm also has a café that sells varieties of strawberry-based dessert an also a gift shop.
As announced by Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Tourism Tax is imposed starting 1 January 2023 for all hotel guests that are non-Malaysian or non-permanent Residents of Malaysia. Please expect that hotel will collect the Tourism Tax from you during check-in at the hotel. The Tourism Tax rate is 10 RM per room per night.
