closed end of this month
Visiting this warung first week of November they told me they will close end of November and will open a new warung in Pecatu in 2015, on road to Uluwatu, because more easy to find. I went there last weeks few times for lunch and i found already door closed every time. Maybe bad luck, or in anticipating of final closure?

Warung Vietnamese, worth looking for
Looking for a Vietnamese restaurant I found the simple restaurant (warung) on Tripadvisor site. It is an open restaurant with approx 12 seats and an open kitchen where everything is fresh prepared. I tried several times different dishes and all are really tasteful and compared with price: really value for money. The menu is rather small, but better choice of 10 and fresh and good, than more than 100. They prepare the famous Po, Vietnamese beef salad, fresh springrolls, crispy tofu (tahu) balls with herbs etc, and some desserts like banana pancake (even Balinese kids come for take away!) I would prefer the daylight scene because you can look around in this quiet part of Bukit (there are few resort villas in that area). The position of the warung is a bit more high than street. The location is small, but it is a clean, fully renovated building (Ladies: with a modern clean toilet!) Pricelevel:4 spring rolls+main course+beer cost you 80.000 idr. There is no sign on the road from Ungasan to Uluwatu and that was the reason why i had to drive and turn several times before finding it for the first time. So maybe this description is helpful...... Driving from Ungasan (Nirmala crossing point) to Pecatu (or Dreamland or Uluwatu) you will reach the sideway Jalan Kahuripan before huge Dreamland entrance. From Ungasan driving you will see first on your right hand Pepito Supermarket and after that petrol station Pertomina. Actually the road you have to drive in is the first asphalt road on your right hand 400 meter after the petrolstation. More precisely; first you will see Circle K on your left hand en Indomaret on your right hand. Now you are about 30 meter from to asphalt road on your right hand. Go inside and drive again about 400 meter; cannot miss because warung is next to street with several signs.

Fresh and simple
We had a lovely healthy lunch at Warung Maja. I accidentally came across the restaurant advert in Bali Advertiser. The warung is hidden away on a quiet street behind Dreamland. The food is fresh and excellent value for money. The Beef salad and the tofu ball were my favourites!
