Good Pecel & Bacem
Went here coincidentally, when we look for traditional food since bored with hotel's food or restaurants. We saw this warung very busy at lunch time and we try for nasi pecel, tempe bacem and es campur, no wonder! So yummy! And we went back to this place next day after

Popular, glad we stopped there
Our first brongkos, happy to discover some new dishes after 3 wks of travelling around. The beef (sapi) was really good as well as the meat balls and the veg. The lay-out of the mid-outdoor kitchen is worth a look. Lively place well situated next to the Kraton and museums. If locals trust, we trust.

Best Jogja Food!
Brongkos is a traditional Javanese dish, made from soy, herbs, and cooked like a curry / soup with various add-ons like beef meat, chicken, egg, etc. Warung Handayani is a small restaurant (perhaps only 10-15 seats) which served the best Brongkos I've ever tasted in Jogja. Nothing fancy, just a humble kiosk in a small alley, but reachable with cars or motorcycle, right in front of Alun-alun Kidul (Alkid) or about 15 mnt walk from Keraton. The portion is adequate, and is cheap - like you'd expect from Jogja foods.
