Overpriced menu, slow service and tasteless food - avoid
We hired a driver and car for the day to visit Ubud and the surrounding areas. We told the driver we wanted to have local food somewhere non-touristy. This place was the definition of a tourist trap. The rooster locked in a cage was just unnecessary and cruel. The service was slow and the curry was insipid. Most people ordered the nasi goreng with sate but I noticed not many plates were finished off. The food was over priced for what it was. If your tour stops here I recommend continuing to walk down the road to the local warung where they also serve beef balls with rice and veges. Two people can eat there for 35k including drinks compared to at least 75k per dish at Warung de Koi.

Pretty place but rubbish food
This is a place you can visit as part of the temple tour. Beautiful surroundings and cooler temperature out of the sun, but the food is worst I’ve had in Bali. Mie Goreng was tasteless, chicken satay was over cooked and mango juice was bitter rather than sweet. Not sure what other options are out here but maybe try somewhere else. If you’re really stuck then this looks hygienic at least.

Crazy expensive touristic trap
After visiting Tirta Empul my driver dropped me at this warung for lunch. I asked him for a good non touristic restaurant and he assured me that all the tourists are always happy with this place....well not me. The location is nice, I sat in a nice pagoda overlooking rice fields. That's it. The food is from poor (prawn salad) to average (vegwtarian nasi goreng) to good (mango lassi) and the price is ridiculously expensive. I paid around 170,000IDR for this joke!!! Thanks driver ;-) Better to buy some chips or an ice cream in one souvenir shop at Tirta Empul.
