Decent Balinese Cuisine and Halal
Heard this place from friend of mine and decide to try for lunch. Order Ayam Garang Asem, Tum Ayam and Bakwan Jagung. All meets our expectations. Leaving with happy tummy.

Memorable Authentic Balinese Cooking with Halal Standard
Expecting somewhat a generic tired looking restaurant selling Balinese dishes, just like most Balinese eateries these days, we're quite thrilled to find Warung Basang is a well-designed restaurant with retro chic atmosphere, and fully air-conditioned. Our next surprise came when we discovered rare Balinese dishes on the menu, and all of them are halal. Yes it lists the favourite Balinese dishes like Ayam Betutu, Ayam Sitsit Sambal Matah, Sate Lilit, and so-on, but it also list Lawar Klungah, Tum Sapi, and several types of less common Balinese Sambal like Sambal Mbe, and Sere Tabia. Lawar Klungah itself is considered a legacy of Tabanan Regency, and it's rarely found in common Balinese eateries in Denpasar. What's make it unique is the ingredients that consisting of young coconut shell. Still in its infancy, young coconut shells has this crunchy chunky texture with fresh coconut aroma and tad bitterness. Cooked into lawar, it's a unique dish you will rarely find elsewhere. While prices is a bit higher than common Balinese restaurant, from our several visits to Warung Basang we always found it's worth every rupiah we spent. WiFi tend to be good, and it's a comfy place to hang out as well. Now we know where to bring our visiting Indonesian friends to, when they're looking for a halal Balinese food.
