I have refrained from writing this report for three days rather than write it in the heat of the moment. Tia Garden Restaurant is directly opposite to the entrance to the Prama Sanur Beach Hotel on Jalan Tamblingnam, Sanur. This was absolutely the worst meal I have ever had in over 50 years of travelling and numerous visits to Sanur over 40 years. Two Bloody Mary's ordered as cocktails came simply as pure tomato smoothies, just blitzed tomatoes - not the ripe red Mediterranean, European or American style Tomato juice used to make a Bloody Mary, no Worcestershire sauce, not a dash of tabasco or even a touch of lemon, not a single piece of ice and just a hint of Vodka. Quite the most awful amateur drink I have ever had the misfortune to taste. I chose from the Menu - The Grilled Chicken with gravy and chunky potato wedges - what arrived was a piece of chicken, burnt on the outside and covered with a cold slime which pretended to be gravy. The chunky potato wedges were in fact frozen crinkly cut chips or French fries. Complaints didn't even get an acknowledgment. I offered my credit card for payment but their card machine failed work. So, I had to pay in Cash - that's fine but not when you have to then find an ATM to pay for the worst culinary experience of your life. Only one piece of advice - Stay away from this awful place!

First night in Bali
Visited the TIA Garden on my first night in Sanur as it was close to the Mercure where I was staying. Interesting menu and welcomed into the restaurant had a seat at the front looking onto the street. Service pretty good and friendly, just had a club sandwich which was tasty and a pina colada which had quite a kick too it. While waiting to be served a complimentary drink and some prawn crackers and sweet chilli sauce were served. Overall a nice experience they have a stage at the back of the restaurant which had a Balinese dancer on as I was leaving.

We arrived at tia garden and we were given free crackers and juice maybe with alcohol in (we weren't told what it was) the waitress quickly came to take our drinks order but it took 20 mins for our food order to be taken. We ordered another round of drinks shortly after which we never received and had to go up to the bar to ask again as the waitresses were more busy standing near the kitchen talking. We waiting 2 hours for our food and when we asked a waiter about it he said it was cooking. 10 mins later we were handed a sandy prawn curry when we ordered deep fried shrimps and a raw cold duck arrived 10 mins after the shrimps. We couldn't eat either meal and the shrimps still had the intestine track 😷 when we told the waiter he didn't look surprised and said we didn't have to pay for the food. Our bill arrived with the food still on and we had to ask them to remove it again, they still charged us a service charge though!! And the lady who seemed to be in charge came over and said she needed new kitchen staff even though it was her who forgot our drinks! 3 hours after arriving we left disappointed, hungry and annoyed! Avoid this place unless you fancy a few days with Bali belly!
