Thank you the Chedi Club for a fantastic dinner. The only issue we had all night was whether to choose a la carte or degustation...😊 We were greeted at the hotel reception and personally escorted through the hotel’s stunning grounds to the elegant restaurant set amongst the rice paddies. From there on, everything continued exquisitely. The service, the food, the beverages and the surprise amuse bouches that kept appearing. My favourite courses were the prawn laksa and coconut sorbet. Highly recommend this first class establishment.

Culinary delights amidst the paddy fields
The foodie in me enjoyed the memorable lunch we ate in The Restaurant. Surrounded by paddy fields and french windows making you feel as if you are outdoors! A cool breeze kept us comfortable. On offer is an eclectic menu, from local to global cuisine. The son opted for the Wagyu steak while the husband and I chose the traditional Indonesian Rijsttafel (rice table). It was incredible - the presentation and the flavours – delicious! We ended the meal with an amazing local coffee – the Tanah Gajah coffee which includes the local brew arak. Yum! Not only were the drinks, food and service superlative, we learnt that the herbs (in our cocktails and mocktails) as well as the rice served are grown on the property itself! Don't miss this when visiting Ubud!

Culinary Gem in Ubud
One of the personal favourite of mine, both The Restaurant and the hosting resort, The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah itself. First thing first, The Restaurant is nestled among a lush paddy field, blessing it with an unrivalled view to just lose the track of time. The menu is a carefully curated Asian and Western flavours courtesy of Chef Dean and his esteemed team. The best thing is, a dining experience at The Restaurant is always bespoke. The team always tries their best to deliver your particular preferences, they factor in your likes and dislikes. I've tried few dishes, and I must say, for casual comfort bites, go for the wagyu sliders, for something with a bit more finesse, The Duo Seafood with house-smoked salmon served with the scallop mousse, balsamic caviar and Balinese-style saffron beurre blanc is the way to go.
