Decided to have step in for a drink and ended up having 3..That's how good the cocktails are! Great atmosphere, not loud, perfect!

Stopped in while looking for somewhere for dinner
Just stopped for a quick drink while we looked for a restaurant nearby. Atmosphere is friendly and the drinks were pretty good! Try the ashes for a 'smokey' old fashioned.

Nice place poor cocktails
I thought my partner and I would get some great cocktails here but they were pretty poor actually. I do have a background in cocktails, i used to manage a Gin house/cocktail bar and I do hold WSET L3 in Drinks and cocktails. I say this only to highlight that have an informed opinion about cocktails and i will give my honest view on how they were. First the positives: The setting is lovely with a nice atmosphere The staff were really friendly and genuine The cocktail list looked great with creative, complex fusions. Reasonably well stocked bar (though their prices for some spirits were ludicrous i.e. nip of Makers Mark 225,000 or £13 - international spirits often are in South East Asian countries though) Glassware choice was great (for the cocktails and in general, all were handsome cuts of glass) The cocktail ASHES was well presented, with a pine cone lit with a blow torch to create 'the mist' Now the Negatives: The drink ASHES was tart and i mean really tart. No balance at all for all the things that were in it. Given the myriad of ingredients that went in, i envisioned a smokey complex drink with a hint sweetness, but i just got a tarty sour drink which gave me a bit of acid. Maybe they got the ratios wrong with mine but for London price cocktails they sure as hell shouldn't. My partners cocktail LOLAH (?) was alot better, it actually did taste complex with intruiging flavors. It did suffer somewhat from that tarty disposition that plagued my drink though. I thought i would try another cocktail before i formed an opinion, so I got one of my go-to cocktails an Old Fashioned. That was worse. Weirdly made me a little angry, it was 155,000 (230,000 if i had it with Makers mark £14) and it tasted as though they just put some bulleit bourbon in a glass with a flick of bitters, which, im not even sure was Angostua bitters, put the cube of ice in a delivered it to my table. Old Fashioneds are strong, sweet with that complex herby spice of Angostura bitters. The ingredients need to be layered, stirring, adding more ice as you go. The result is a smooth, slightly sweet and spiced drink which is simple but elegant. The one at The Night Rooster was not. It tasted like a little bit watered down straight Bulleit. Overall, im quite disappointed. Really wanted to like this place as everything was great from the setting, the ambiance to the great staff. But the drinks, expensive and poorly executed apart from the presentation. I went to some other cocktail bars that night and none were all that. Dont think Bali is the place for cocktails. Back to the Bintang!
