Short of Excellence
Value - 3/5 Service - 5/5 Food - 3/5 Ambience - 5/5 My partner and I visited for a midweek dinner having made a prior booking online the previous day. We were warmly greeted by the staff and seated at a lovely private table overlooking the fields. We elected for the Indonesian cuisine; calamari and rice cheese balls for starter and the Balinese Reiztafel to share for main. To finish we chose the Lemon Meringue and Chocolate Fondant. The food was plentiful with seemingly good quality ingredients, although lacked the flavour we were hoping for. I wonder if maybe the flavours had been toned down to cater to a western crowd? The service was quick, efficient and friendly throughout. Although the meal was excellent value by western standards, much better value for money can be found around Ubud, although the ambience would take some beating. On a side note, the Balinese Sauvignon-Blanc was excellent, particularly given it was only ~£15/bottle. ~£25/each for 3-Courses & Wine

Fine dining while escaping the craze
After a couple of days in Ubud, you really need to escape the senseless craziness, the countless holes on the sidewalks, the scores of motorcycles, and look for some real peace. The restaurant is well off the nightmare yet close enough to the city. Wonderful suroundings, a real oasis. The food is seriously good, the service attentive and up to international standards. The whole experience is very satisfactory.

Great food, beautiful view and a lovely escape from the hectic traffic of Ubud. When you sit down at Terracotta is is like you have entered another world. One that is far away from the crazy traffic and seething throng of tourists that is so much a part of central Ubud. The trip to this restaurant is truly worth it for a relaxed lunch or romantic dinner. The view is terrific and the food very, very good.
