Poor attitude and below average food
I called in to Simpang Cafe because it was next to a vegetarian cafe my wife wanted to visit. I ordered a beer from the disinterested lad behind the counter and waited to speak to the woman in charge of the food. I couldn’t get a smile out of either of them until it was clear I would stay for lunch. I had the 500g pork ribs recommended to me and was offered a special price - I had to ask what the special price was and I was promised no tax - so the total was 110,000 rp - the ribs were covered in sauce which hid the face there was hardly any meat on the bones. There was a small serve of chips and small salad. When I finished the meal I was told I had to pay tax but if I came back that night for dinner then no tax. I paid for the meal without tax which is what I was promised. I didn’t go back for dinner.

Simple and good
Small cafe-like place to eat. Went two times. Clean and attractive to go inside. Simpel interior but cosy. Food was great! I read Some say its cold, well almost everywhere you go to eat the food really isn't that hot, its just a thing here. The staff is friendly and not pushy to to inside. You can sit at a table or just on like some bar and have an overview of the street. Simple but nice. Would go again.
