Re-Opened as Nelayan Sanur Bay
So to answer comments earlier, the Restaurant that used to be called "The Sanur Bay" has recently re-opened as Nelayan (Sanur Bay). The place has been completely re-built and the new space is bright and modern, much improved from the old set-up which was primitive. There are some tables on the lower level (outside) by the Sanur beach sidewalk. We recently had lunch there to try it and were not particularly impressed. It no longer has a "seafood" focus and features mostly International dishes with some seafood. The Mains run from IDR95K to IDR 165K so it is significantly more expensive than the other restaurants in the area. Fish and Chips was the lowest priced item on the menu and at IDR 95K not at all good value for Sanur. The food itself was nothing special and we felt did not justify the higher cost, There is much better value, and in our opinion, better food available in other places very close by, especially our perennial favourite, Lilla Pantai where your costl will be half of what you will pay at Nelayan.

This restaurant is no more. Building demolished and another being built. Not sure if Sanur Bay will return, I had some good meals there and the profits went into the local community.

With so much competition, pass this one by
I took a punt with Sanur Bay because it was right on the water and most Indo food I had was great. Unfortunately, although the dish sounded good it tasted...well...tasteless. Keep walking. Plenty else on offer.
