Don’t waste your time or money.
Don’t get me wrong, this establishment is in a nice a enough setting, by the ocean, reminiscent of Greece if you use your imagination but that’s where any attraction stops. My partner and I ordered the salt and pepper squid, fish cakes, garlic bread, garlic and ginger prawns and the seafood pasta, my partner also got an iced coffee. Needless to say we gave the menu a good go. The squid was so incredibly over cooked, chewy and under seasoned (which sadly was the theme of our food at Sails). The fish cakes were flavorless, if there was fish in them I’d be shocked. The garlic bread...I am in no way exaggerating when I say there was literally a 1cm thick layer of near raw garlic piled atop of half a dozen pieces of baguette, held on by what might have been a very small amount of cheese. The seafood pasta was over cooked and so bland that in a rescue attempt I luckily had the garlic from the bread I scraped off and mixed it in, along with a heap of salt. The garlic ginger prawns were ok but we did have to excavate them from under the thick layer of garlic. As for the iced coffee, I’m not sure what that drink was but it certainly was not an iced coffee. Even though we were alone dining at this restaurant and they provide table service (no bottled water available for purchase so they had to come over to top you up), we had to ask at least half a dozen times to have our water glasses refilled. I don’t know how this restaurant is still open nor do I understand how the food is so bad and even more baffling how on earth are people leaving it rave reviews? It’s honestly got me boggled. Do yourselves a favor and give this place a miss, with so many other yummy options it’s not worth your time or money.
