Nice atmosphere but the food was not as we hoped
The restaurant on one of the routes to the Monkey Forest has a nice atmosphere of Indonesian music and nice furnishings. The servers were very friendly. The crispy duck was actually fried to a total crisp making it unappetizing. Almost impossible to find any meat not dehydrated beyond eating. Nothing crispy but the bones. I had a sampler plate of different Indonesian specialties. Only three had any flavor at best. Ended up filling up on white rice. Not a good meal. We did try a local "wine" Aray? and it was interesting. More like a water downed spirit but curiously good with lime and ice.

Good food, halal options
We had the Balinese paella and spicy shrimp with rice. Both were tasty and reasonably priced. Courteous staff. Only cash payments accepted.

We stopped there after visiting the Monkey forest, not sure as the place was empty. But food was really good (we had Indonesian) even if portions are a bit small, but that's pretty common in Ubud also in other restaurants. Service quick, staff was nice as well.
