You should try the rujak cingur. The price is cheaper than the other famous restaurant, but the taste and flavor is equal. It's better to come at morning time to avoid long queue.

A must try local culinary
I visited this restaurant while having a business trip to Surabaya city. The restaurant is simple yet comfort for me though I just take away my order and not dine in. Off course, I order its famous menu; rujak cingur. Rujak Cingur, made from buffalo mouth is a specialty of Surabaya. Cingur literally means mouth in Javanese, "cingur" (pronounced: ching-oor) is a variant of rujak from Surabaya. This specialty rujak from East Java has a "meaty" taste (Wikipedia). For me, this menu is not my favourite but still worth to try if you are a unique food lover.

been there done that....
As the old saying says " you have not been to Jogja if you have not visited Malioboro". The same goes for Surabaya with its delectable rujak cingur, bear in mind that this is an acquired taste. For those who love shrimp paste/petis, rujak cingur is a culinary delight. If you activate the search engine for rujak cingur, you'll find a wide range of choice, each claim to be the authentic one. One of the key ingredients is the choice of petis. I would rate this Rujak Cingur Gentling Durasim amongst the top culinary places in Surabaya.
