Great food, great view
We always return to this delightful restaurant when we're in Ubud. We love the corncake and everything else! The rice fields are right behind and a great respite from busy Monkey Forest Road.

Suckling pig l think not!
I really wanted to try the authentic Balinese Suckling Pig with all the accoutrements ie the crispy skin, bloody sausage and sambals. After checking out the TripAdvisor reviews decided we would give this restaurant a go. The location was down Monkey Forest road in center of Ubud, and you can easily miss the small entrance (wish we had). We opted for a table next to the rice paddy, service was extremely slow, l even had to get up and ask for the menu. We both ordered a couple beers & two mains of suckling pig, what arrived was far from suckling. A good portion of white rice, two pieces of cold, dry & tasteless pork draped over the rice. I was lucky, my wife only had one piece. The skin was deep fried scratching, not the mahogany crispy skin of slow roasted suckling pig, accompanied by one very small portion of spicy sambal. The one highlight in the whole dish was the spicy bloody sausage, which l really did enjoy( again small portion). To be fair, we got what we paid for, it was cheap & cheerful. We decided not to prolong the agony, paid the bill & as we were leaving my wife exclaimed OMG there’s a rat, there was in fact two. The couple who waiting for our table, actually overtook us on the way out. We did laugh, but were concerned about the health issue, however, no ill effects to report.

Great food and views
We found Rai Pasti when we were in Ubud 18 months ago and couldn't wait to go back this trip. The decor is as nice as some other restaurants in the area and the staff don't appear to be as happy or friendly but the very good cheap food and cold beers more than make up for it. Additionally the toile is very clean by Bali standards. Must admit on all three visits we only ordered one thing, Suckling Pig x 2. Normally we get two different dishes and share but not when it comes to Suckling Pig. Agree that the accompaniments aren't as spicy as some places but the pork was lovely and tender and packed full of flavour. Servings are generous by Bali standards and the prices are fantastic. Only criticism is the display board at the front list one price however the menu and bill list a higher price. It was only 50 cents and totally worth it.
