Want to please
This is a sweet little place, very clean, with tiled floor set back in a garden just off the main street. No dogs, no bugs, no geckos that I experienced. The young man who took my order and served me, Ketut, wanted so much for me to be happy. He apologized if he thought I wasn't happy and took such care to deliver me the beautifully bound menu, my napkin and utensils, and the nicely presented food and drink items. He knows English fairly well and wants to go to university...for that reason alone I recommend going here! I ordered a watermelon juice and interestingly it tasted a little different than other watermelon juice I've had on the island. I asked about the flavor and turns out they make the sugar syrup with pandan leaf. One of my Indonesian drivers told me about pandan and that they love it here, particularly in coffee. When Ketut told me he stirs the sugar with a pandan leaf, he added 'to make smiles.' You'll have to decide for yourself whether you like it or not. I loved the intention. I ordered Betutu Ayam -the flavor of the spices was really nice and the chicken was tender. At first I thought the portion was kind of small but honestly, I was pretty full when I finished. I also ordered the Balinese dessert crepe that was a thickly rolled traditional crepe filled with brown palm sugar and bits of coconut. That's the first time I've ordered it so I can't compare. It wasn't overly sweet and if you like that type of dessert, then give it a try. Overall, this warung tries hard and their setting is really pleasant. Prices are not high at all and my food was enjoyable.

Highly recommended local food
Already the cute menu card looked so inviting. Best Choice was definitely Beef Rendang, a tender beef served in a delicious creamery sauce with a little bit of cinnamon that made it very special. All dishes were decorated with some salad and vegetables. For deserts try the “Dadar Gulung” (a special Indonesian crepe with grated coconut and palm sugar) – it is a sweet dream! Moreover you must try the local Cocktails made with Arak - wonderful!

We have gone 2 nights in a row and had wonderful service both times. .. such kindness. . Started as a snack and a drink. ..when it started raining we stayed for more.. everything we had was wonderful. The food the drinks. Arak the local rice wine is very good and much cheaper than top shelf liquor. Pedro the house dog is clearly the boss. ..they even offered to play our own music.... amazing service.. each drink is made one at a time with care, attention and love. .so it takes a bit. .but it's soo worth it😉
