Couldn't get in locavore but..
Couldn't get in locavore but managed to get a reservation here. The brand did not disappoint. We ordered 2 veggie dishes (tempeh and mixed veg) and a fried fish. The flavors were outstanding. Being a relatively new vegetarian I'm always looking for new tastes and styles of cooking. Bali is definitely a spot to do this but Nusantara is now on my list as a favorite. We were also surprised by a complimentary appetizer. It was also a mix of unique flavors. You can really taste the fresh. I also had the shallot sambal.. delicious without being fire! The coconut rice was also a tasty treat. There wasn't one thing we didn't like. The restaurant is not cheap but sometimes you need to pay for good food and atmosphere. My wife usually doesn't like fried but the fish did come with a nice sauce that didn't make it taste or feel greasy. Highly recommend!

Indonesian Delights With Lots of Spice
This restaurant was a recommendation from a friend of ours whose son lives in Bali, and it certainly did not disappoint. So much so that we dined at it twice whilst staying in Ubud. We also visited It’s sister cocktail bar on the same street for a few pre-dinner drinks, all apart of the Locavore chain. It’s a tapa style eat with amazing spices in all dishes, three dishes with a rice is enough for two to share. You get a welcome starter which is perfect for a couples setting, this has a selection of little snacks and sauces to go with a rice cracker. They also have the most beautifully fresh iced teas, packed with flavour and freshness. Reasonably priced $$ equivalent to the prices of an Asian restaurant back in Oz, but with five star class, presentation, great food and good customer service to go wit. A definite must if visiting Ubud. We will definitely visit again in future.

We loved this place! Menu definitely more mainstream than Locavore which actually was a draw for us. Standard of cooking is excellent. The idea is they showcase dishes from all over Bali (and tell you where they’re from) so you get some unusual dishes that you mightn’t otherwise try. Be warned...their idea of spicy and your idea of spicy could be quite different!!! A lovely touch is the bottle of homemade iced-tea they send down midway through to extinguish the heat🔥💦🌶 Wines are limited but actually very good value by Balinese standards...a bottle of entry level Telmo Rodriguez for approx €35 so in and around UK/US/Irish prices. Highlights were: the complimentary bowl of rice crackers/dips/snacks to start off proceedings (see photo) The pork belly encased in bamboo cooked on the grill out the front (spicier than advertised but delicious!) The cocktails! Overall a great experience!! Terima kasih!
