Try to avoid - If your Taxi will let you !
Our experience of Jimbaran bay was ruined by a selfish and threatening taxi man and the worst service/food/atmosphere experienced on our trip to Bali! Lovely setting like all restaurants in this area - beach front views with umbrellas but the start of the evening was ruined when our taxi man pulled into the back of the restaurant and wouldn't let us choose where to be dropped off (in town to look at markets and go for a wander to get a drink was our plan). He told us we had to eat there or he could not park and if we did not go through and order he would drive off and not take us home - all our backs were locked in the car … The restaurant probably serves the same as every other restaurant offering seafood platters but the staff are just awful - miserable want your order ASAP and brought and the food at different times. There is a separate menu of satay and steak etc but you have to ask to see it - they pretended you could only order that if you sat inside and were trying to force us to order the overpriced Seafood. A platter for 2 people, prawns crab and fish etc worked out about £30/head which for seafood is good but the food was not great, the meal ruined by the threats and eating shellfish in the dark is very tricky. The minute the sun has set it is pitch black - a small candle does not really make it feel romantic - just awkward as so hard to see... Defiantly order food here early so you can enjoy the views etc. Save your money and eat in a restaurant in town. The toilets inside were disgusting and not clean at all. You have to walk back from the beach to order at the back of the restaurant - very odd and unorganised only drinks order taken at the table and then very slow service. Tip : If travelling to Jimbaran have a restaurant come and pick you up for free, most can be googled and all say they offer free transport from hotel. Traffic home WAS A NIGHTMARE - 1.30HRS BACK TO SANUR AFTER DINNER Choose before you get a taxi as they will drop you at the back of their favoured restaurant where they get 10% commission. AVOID - poor food, poor service, miserable staff

Tourist Trap. WORST MEAL EVER
It doesnt deserves a minute of my time. Just for other tourist ... beware, tourist trap. Worst seafood I have had in my whole life. I paid a lot for having just rubbish. We had lobsters, squid, clams ... served with boiled rice, spinachs and some sauces. Overpriced, not well prepared. A disaster and it ruined our evening. No value for money at all.

Good BUT not that good $$$
On a private tour, our driver recommended New Moon Cafe for lunch. (No doubt his lunch or commission got factored into our bill somewhere !) It was nice how you could select your fish, prawns, etc. which are then BBQ'd and delivered direct to your table. Beautifully presented with rice, spinach and sauces. We had 6 king-prawns and a medium sized red snapper + 3 small bottles of Bintang. The bill came to the equivalent of $105 AUD or about $78 USD. That's big bananas in Bali !! Good food BUT definitely not that good. You could have two great meals elsewhere for that kind of money.
