of all the restaurants we tried in Jakarta, this was my favorite
I was just in Jakarta with my wife just last week. We went to several restaurants but this one was my favorite. Over-all I thought Indonesian food was so-so...not quite Chinese or Thai...but kind of a mix of South-East Asian foods. When we went to Meradelima...it took us almost an hour to get there...Traffic in Jakarta is horrible. We only went about 4-5 km (2-3 miles). I think we could have walked faster. The restaurant, when we went, was fairly empty. I think it was a bit late for dinner but there were 2 other tables with people there. The ambience was nice but not the kind of restaurant where you need to get all dressed up (which I love because I like being more relaxed during dinner). There were a few mosquitos buzzing around in the restaurant but not to the point where you need mosquito repellant. The food was very good. I'm allergic to spicy food so I held off on those items. In general Indonesian food is extremely spicy. I had a bite of vegetables that were extremely spicy (I immediately began to sweat...nothing a napkin couldn't handle). My favorite dish that we had that night was a salted-egg fried fish. The best desert (we tried several :) was the durian with coconut milk (and some pink stuff -- not sure what that was) Over-all we were both very happy to have experienced the restaurant. It was one of our favorite places we went to in Jakarta.

Excellent Indonesian-Peranakan Food
This restaurant serves mainly Peranakan Foods in upscale environment, open from 11 am to 10 pm daily. The correct address should be on Jl Wolter Monginsidi no 1. The name of many of the dishes are rather kind of funny in bahasa Indonesia. We ordered Ayam Panggang Mertua (mother in law grilled/baked chicken) which taste superb, Sayur asam apho which is excellent, Kecipir which rather spicy but the best that we’ve ever taste so far, Udang Keremes which taste very good (little bit sweet), an an excellent Bakwan Jagung. For desserts, we ordered excellent Ice China makan sirih dan Ice Mata Keranjang. Ambience is very nice, pricing is considered high. Definitely worth to try if you like Indonesian Peranakan food and do not mind the prices.
