Good food, good service
Went to Paskal 23 (was Paskal Hypersquare), there is a pretty new mall there. After looking around inside the mall for vegetarian friendly foods (you can find more foods outside the mall), finally we decided to try Malaka foods (Hubby was born in Malaysia). No customer at the beginning, but we gave it a try anyway. People worked there were very friendly and helpful (which is hard to find it here in Calgary when you go to Chinese restaurants). I ordered vegetarian asam laksa, vegetarian fried rice for me and my parents, hubby ordered non vegetarian foods, mango fish, chicken (I forgot name of it). I was surprised when hubby told me he liked those foods, they had Malaysian taste, he said. For dessert we ordered ABC ice and red bean ice. When we go back again to Bandung, we definitely will eat at Mama Malaka again.

I gave 4 stars for the waitresses who are courteous and polite. However, the management/owner/franchisee deserves 0 (ZERO). Waited more than 30 minutes for the following: Mee Siam: it is NOT mee siam, it's fried rice vermicelli (bihun goreng), and tasteless. Chicken Rice: cold and tasteless. Kailan: boiled kailan with some of the excess water, and not much else. Chicken Satay: dry and salty. Are you guys trying to insult Peranakan Cuisine?
