It’s nice but not great yet
Sorry guys but you need to work a little harder on your food The raw plates need some more taste and you need to do them with sushi rice, or at least give us the option! The wok dishes though are nice! And the salads are good enough! You also need to train your waiters! They go up and down with no reason And the food was a bit late!

Amazingly fresh tuna !!!
Awesome tuna carpaccio and bowls made in different styles. The main reason it’s so delicious is obviously how fresh there tuna is. A MUST if your in Canggu area.

2 thumbs up
2nd visit to Mai Tai. Had the ahi poke and their version of the “poisson cru” or raw fish with coconut milk as well as their vegan carpaccio offering with thinly sliced beets called “vareau”. I have spent a lot of time in Hawaii so typically try the ahi poke whenever I see it on the menu. This version is good, not mind blowing. The poisson cru is nice. Vegan carpaccio offerings are actually quite good. Entrees are around Rp 90,000 range. Not bad. Lots of nice fresh healthy juices on the menu as well. Can eat nice and clean here. Had the miso tuna carpaccio on my second visit and the vegan carpaccio called “Anani”. Both were very good. Fresh flavours. Also tried the zucchini/ onion tempura on the daily specials list. Good stuff. Maybe needed a bit of flavour. You can choose rice, fries or salad with your fish dishes - side salad actually quite good. Fresh, nice presentation and a nice dressing. Definite attention to detail at this place. The French owner seems to run a tight ship. Offered a sampling of a new mahi-mahi carpaccio. Only complaint is the majority of tables are communal. Not so into sharing my space with others when dining. The space is not that big so this may not be able to be remedied. If they can sort that out, this place should be a hit for some time.
