Outstanding service and ambience. Very classy and located in a rural area that is nice to see. Wonderful quality of food.

Most wonderful restaurant in the world
I've been coming to Bali for at least 12 years now and I think the Luxe is by far the best. The ambience the food, the service is to die for. Paul you are such a gracious host. We will be back to see you

Pretentious & Overpriced Pub Food at Best, No Class.
I discovered LUXE whilst trawling through listings of best places to eat in Ubud and I have absolutely no idea how this embarrassment of a place made it on these listings. The best way to describe this venue, is someone who has a lot of money to own the place with absolutely no class and Chefs who can't cook for the prices they charge. You start off by taking an enjoyable scooter ride through the rice fields, which is beautiful until you arrive at the LUXE Venue. You make your way up a tight, cornered entrance flight of stairs in to the middle of the Chefs kitchen. I don't know what their trying achieve here, but I personally do not want to walk through a chefs kitchen. The restaurant itself is quite small and intimate, perfect for couples, with a nice view, until the sun sets, and then you can't see anything. The presentation and taste of the food is a whole different story. (not all of it..) I started with Beef Carpaccio and my partner had the Calamari. The beef was good, not amazing, but not bad.. the Calamari though was disgusting.. It was under cooked and soggy, we didn't eat it and sent it back to the kitchen. For our mains, my partner had the LUXE Surf and Turf, Medium rare, and I had a Beef fillet (medium), accompanied by some sides. My partners steak was served med-well, with the lobster being cooked to the point of cremation - burnt tasting and dry. My steak was cooked med-well also, quite dry and slightly chewy. Being a frequent fine dining eater throughout Australia and other parts of the world, and this being supposedly Australia Beef.. I'm lost for words. As a side, we went for some truffle mashed potato, fries and broccoli. Out of every single thing we ate at LUXE, I would highly recommend the Truffle potatoes, it was the nicest thing we both ate that night. When I say, someone with lots of money and no taste.. this needs to be addressed.. It's 2019, we don't want our $70-80 steaks served on bloody wooden chopping boards, put it on a bloody plate... have some finesse.. showing me a box full of cutting knives and allowing me to pick one.. I honestly don't care.. custom vinegar sprays for my food? this was the nail in the coffin for me.. extremely embarrassing.. I tried them all, and they smelt like dirty socks. If you knew fine dining, you'd know these tacky gimmicks don't work. Check out your competition, it might help. I've had better $10 steaks at my local.
