Really excellent meal
Sadly I was the only diner in this restaurant. It’s off season (sort of) and apparently more quiet than usual. That said, service and meal were both excellent. A good menu and a standard selection that you’d find in any English Indian. Well blended herbs, a free appetiser and lassi made for a surprisingly good experience. Slightly more expensive than the normal Indonesian fare but this diner thought it was worth it.

Fancied Indian and was yet to try this restaurant, easy enough to get to, down Jl Cemara (which is an extension of Tamblingan) and is opposite a large Popular Market (large mini mart) We ordered 4 each of the butter (23,000 rp each) and garlic naans (27,000 rp each), they were very nice, if you are a garlic naan lover, these were stuffed with garlic inside not just brushed with garlic on top. Also ordered mutton korma (79,000 Rp) which was tasty and meat was tender. Nice flavour. Butter tikka chicken X 2 of these (69,000 Rp each) also good, mild butu still had a touch of spice to it, so be careful if you ask for hot! Chicken was breast meat and was cooked nicely, and plenty of meat in it, not all sauce like some other places. Lemon chicken (69,000 Rp) which our son enjoyed, Palak Paneer (65,000 Rp) also good, had a nice texture and again a decent amount of paneer in it. With 8 breads, 5 mains and 7 drinks plus tax we paid 778,000 Rp. One of our more expensive meals out in Bali, but we had ordered more food than normal as we wanted to try a few different dishes and we are a bit greedy when it comes to naan breads!! One of the highlights of our meal was the young waitress. Unlike a lot of places we have tried in Bali, this is probably the best service we have ever had from this particular waitress (didn't get her name) She was attentive without being in our faces and when not attending to us was keeping herself busy by keeping things tidy around the restaurant and doing things needed to be done. Unlike a lot of places where the waitresses just stand and watch you eat or hover over you, this was a refreshing change. The restaurant itself was clean, and nice and light and bright. Not sure about it being smaller than it originally was, (as stated in other reviews) as not sure how big it has or has not previously been. Looks to us like it has always been this size, as its surrounded by other buildings so looks as though there was never any room for it to have been any bigger. As it is, there is plenty of room and seating. It's worth a try, would recommend.

To start the tablecloth had burn holes in it. Service was very slow. The food bland and some items undercooked - Samosas, Naan, Chicken kathi rolls. Generally very poor. However, to top it all off I had to leave my wife sitting as the debit card machine from BNI did not accept my BNI card. I had to leave and go to an ATM machine. When I asked the Manageress she said yes they had this problem a lot with the BNI machine. When I told her we would be telling our friends, rather than being apologetic or understanding she was aggressive and told me to "go ahead and tell everyone. We don't care." So here I am telling everyone. 35 years resident in Bali and never had this sort of experience in a restaurant here before.
