New delicious idea from the best chef in Ubud
Wow try La Ramona on Sundays. Chef Josie had a great idea. Buy a drink for Rp 150.000 and get all of the canapés you want to eat. Not only do you get to sample many of the restaurant’s wonderful normally available flavors. Josie takes the opportunity to play in the kitchen and use his amazing taste buds to create new and often, to me, exciting flavors for you to try. Don’t miss it on the coming Sundays.

I can’t write well enough to fully convey just how good this food was! I usually stick to local fare when travelling on a budget but decided to splash out a little on my last night in Ubud. La Ramona is easy to miss but I’m so glad I didn’t! Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten, accompanied by efficient but laid-back service and a great atmosphere. I had fried olives and feta (spicy crumbed little balls, crunchy on the outside, soft and warm inside), mushroom risotto (very indulgent, with grana padano shavings and truffle oil) and an unusual but sublime dessert of white chocolate ganache with strawberries and candied bacon pieces. Possibly not everyone’s cup of tea but well worth a visit if your diet of nasi goreng and gado gado is wearing thin! Best part was that 3 courses and 2 cocktails cost 300k idr (£16 / $22 usd)

After reading reviews for LaRamona on TA we were prepared for it being a bit grungy, would have probably left otherwise. The food was delicious, not sure about being served Sangria in a storage jar with soup ladle and China tea cups! Would have loved to try dessert but too full!
