Visited this restroom & bar on 3 occasions while were staying in Kuta, found the food and service to be excellent for very reasonable prices paid, staff are very friendly and service is top drawer in our opinion, would recommend the chicken Kiev was lovely.

Our fall-back place to eat for lunch or dinner.
My wife and I and two of our children (aged 41 and 44 for God's sake) spent 3 weeks in Kuta, staying at Fat Yogi Cottages in August this year. La Walon is situated on the same side of Poppies Lane as Fat Yogi and is right next door. We found ourselves eating and enjoying a drink there, almost every day. The food is very good indeed, its well priced as are the drinks and the friendly service is second to none. I would be very happy and confident to recommend anyone to go there for a drink or a meal.

The Kuta Eats Two Step
ONE STEP FORWARD, ONE STEP BACK. RATING the average Kuta restaurant is kinda difficult – there are so many with great prices, pretty good food, slick service yada that the “AVERAGE” there would rate up a notch to “VERY GOOD” in the west. I rate on the basis of nearby competition, not on a global basis. To go up a notch from “AVERAGE” a place has to have a noticeable EXTRA (one step forward). LA WALON has that extra but unfortunately has a NEGATIVE dragging it back. The EXTRA is a great little bar area with some of the least expensive beer I had in 3 weeks of multi-venue Bali budget travel plus a great outlook over the always entertaining passing parade on POPPIES LANE 1**. Those killer bar prices are the same in the adjacent restaurant. NEGATIVE was patchy entertainment. New in 2018 was a varied-nightly array of singer/guitarists – seems to me the growth of diner/club/bar entertainment in Bali has been so rapid every dude with a guitar can get a gig – but some are not good enough to keep that gig like one half of a LA WALON duo our first night who was basically abysmal – second night she was gone. Her partner returned – he was better but not much. Otherwise LA WALON performed at the good standard of the average Kuta restaurant. It offers good quick service, okay food (I’m no gourmet) at low prices, a nice setting (you can dine alfresco or undercover), a view of the passing parade in ever changing POPPIES LANE 1** and a good location a short walk from most Kuta accommodation. Plus those bargain drink prices. TIPS – the bar is a magnet for expatriates and long term visitors who are always good for an update on what’s happening. - this place is central in POPPIES LANE 1: abt 5 minutes from the beach one way and from busy JALAN LEGIAN the other. - some cabbies claim they can’t drive up POPPIES LANE. They can – and drop you in the forecourt opposite restaurant tables. – if staying in LA WALON HOTEL** pay extra when booking for the inclusive breakfast, a bargain. For walk-ins the charge is still very reasonable. - hotel guests can charge food and drink to room accounts and pay with plastic when checking out. Not sure if outsiders can use cards. **TRIPADVISOR has separate review pages.
