True Indonesian flavours in a family cafe
This is a wonderful little cafe. This was our second visit in 3 years with local friends and we were not disappointed. The food is exceptional, tea is refreshing and every mouthful wakes up the senses. The dishes come wrapped in banana leaves and served on pottery plates. Everything about the meal is an art, a display of warmth, love and pride. Our friends suggested meals. Mine arrived and yes it was chicken but they had failed to advise me it was chicken livers. It took some convincing on their part, but I could hardly insult my friends or hosts by refusing the dish. I tried some and to my surprise it was incredibly tasty. Not at all like the chicken livers I have tasted served in a western kitchen. Apparently it all comes from the way in which the livers are cooked. They are not allowed to cook or boil in their blood but are drained during the steaming process. I never thought I would be recommending a dish with chicken livers, but it really was very good.

A taste of Indonesia
Tucked away in a corner house in the bustling Pasar Santa area, Koko Bogana serves authentic rice dishes from different regions. Known for its Nasi Bogana, a parcel of rice and dishes wrapped in banana leaf. The original owner, the late oom Michael, made sure that attention was given to details and quality. He selected the best of Indonesia to be served in this small cozy restaurant in busy Jakarta. Koko Bogana still continues this legacy until now.

Unique local restaurant
This restaurant offers many type of traditional rice dishes which are very tasty. I am not quite sure where the origin of the dishes are from, but it seems combination of several area. Good price, good food.
