Beautiful views, okay food and fair staff
I visited Kepitu restaurant for lunch with my family. The view was stunning (rice fields, green view) and nice architecture of the hotel. The lunch menu were standard like asian and indonesian food. The taste was good but nothing special. The mango lasagna was unique tho. The price was affordable for a hotel restaurant. What makes me uncomfortable was the staff services to us. 1) The person who stay in the car park did not let us to drop off my mom in the lobby. He suggested us to park first and take a walk to the lobby. The car park and the lobby was close which is fine to walk but still he let a taxi with a passenger go through. 2) When we decided to only have lunch in the restaurant (not join the pool club), one of the staff told us that the minimum purchase of the lunch were rp. 250k/person and we were okay with that. But the menu price was moderate, so if you want to purchase 250k per person, you kind a have to order 2-3 dishes per person which doesn't make sense for me. At the end of the visit, we could not reach 250k/person because we felt full already. When we asked the bill, the staff said "the 250k purchase per person regulations is not fully establish so it is fine if your bills doesn't reach the minimum purchase". I feel like i have been fooled by the staff. 3) we want to take a look in the dinner place downstairs, the staff did not let us. 4) we want to see one of the room, just in case we would like to have a holiday in the future. The staff said that he would try to let the managers know at first and then no follow up. I think the hotel should do more training for the staffs.

Good BBQ dining - pricey !
This restaurant is located at Kayon resort, a short 10 minutes drive from downtown Ubud. My wife and I went to this restaurant for their Wednesday evening exotic BBQ dinner. Food was very good (plenty to choose from) and the service was excellent. But the price / quality ratio is not to the expectations. For two people, the bill was about $100 USD based on a meal for 2 + local wine. If you compare to the average restaurant bill in Bali (more or less $20 USD), it does not justify the price difference. We went to Pica restaurant in Ubud (see separate review) the previous evening and we had a fantastic dinner for 2 for $50 USD. Conclusion: good restaurant with a scenic view. But, for the price, we would have expected to have a few wow, which we didn't.

Great food and service.
We stayed at the onsite resort and dined often at this location. We had breakfast their daily and the staff was willing to do whatever they could to accommodate dietary requirements. The menu was expansive and offered a lot of American and local options. We also have had dinner and lunch there as well. The menu had a lot of variety and was reasonably priced. Despite being a luxury location and restaurant, I found their prices to be comparable (or better) than what you might spend going out for a date. They were willing to accommodate local cuisine to your preferred level of spiciness. Staff was always attentive and willing to discuss things you needed. They also took the time to get food right and not send out things that were not properly cooked. I would recommend trying them if you are in the area, especially on a themed night for dinner.
