Oasis surprise on Garlic Lane
On the end of garlic lane with less bar/warungs is this clean and friendly place. Stated is Aussie owned. Cheap drinks, clean environment, high-def tellies and board shows 20% off food between 6-7 pm. Early bird special reminds me of Seinfeld episode when he arrives at Florida retirement village cafe with his parents at 7.15. A resident exits and yells “oh, past early bird, think you’re a hot shot now”. Ha, yeah honey we’ll go at 6.

Warm welcome and excellent food
This proved to be an unexpected but delightful experience. As with so many of the best experiences in Bali this establishment looks to be nothing particularly special from the outside, but a warm welcome from the hostess is just the tip of the iceberg as the welcoming staff present you with dishes freshly cooked to order. The superb flavours are just expertly blended and balanced to create a true flavour sensation. Real favourites on this first visit were the Thai Green Curry, in which the true flavour of the lemongrass (frequently overcooked out) truly shone through, and the Balinese King Prawns, subtly spicy without overpowering the delicate flavour of the prawns, which themselves were cooked to perfection. Absolutely top marks.

Never noticed this place before
I have walked past here many times and not paid any attention, probably because there is a shoe shop opposite. Owner (Anne Marie) gave me a lovely welcome while I was in the street and asked me to come in. How could i say no. She put me at a table and made sure there was a working fan. My drink arrived and so did Anne Marie to ensure all was ok. I ordered the rack to lamb and was completely blown away by the tenderness of the meat. Try the banana fritters and the choc mousse.....how did i walk past this place so many times?? I will definitely be back. The food is great, service is great but the real star at this restaurant is the owner Anne Marie. She is so welcoming that all her patrons “feel the love”
