Best ribs ever!
We found this restaurant because its close to the place where we lived and it was one of the greatest thing we've found! They had the best ribs (Iga Bakar) on the world, so delicious! Prize for 2 ribs (~50k) is ok and we had some chicken (~15k) with Nasi Bakar (~15k - rice with some meat prepared in coconut leaf) and it was very great too. They also had tasty avocado juice (~7k). You have to try this!

Gorgeous Halal Barbecued Beef Ribs
It's one of those things. You know, when you just HAVE to have what you want and what we wanted was BEEF RIBS (also known as iga bakar in Indonesia). Our initial plan was to find ourselves at Iga Bakar Jakal, which is all the way up in Kaliurang. Too far for us especially with no bikes. So we attempted to get locals to recommend us an iga bakar joint. That recommendation led us to Bale Raos (review coming soon) which was great but alas, no iga bakar on the menu. It would have been a story with no happy ending if it wasn't for our hosts back in JogjaDreams (you can read my review on that lodging). Nonie told us to check out Jo Mestir's and boom, we didn't have to crave for ribs any more. My oh my, the ribs came generous in size, juicy and tender. Pair them ribs with a glass of cold es teh and we were pretty much set. But we were greedy. So we ordered their nasi bakar, which turned out to be fried rice wrapped in banana leaf (?) and barbecued. Very yummy. Our hosts also specifically recommended their lamb fried rice but we were too full by then. Wish we had more people with us. Keep in mind that this is a local restaurant, which only means good things. No bus loads of tourists, no fancy arrangements on the plate and nothing ridiculously pricey on the menu. Just simple hearty food in a very clean restaurant. Plus, they are HALAL too. Very much recommended!
