Gudeg for lunch
A regular customer at this place since many years ago but first time to dine at this outlet at Bellagio mall. The gudeg here a bit sweeter than the one at the other place. Well, at least it’s cured my craving for gudeg. Around Sg$5 per plate is a good choice to have a filling lunch.

Haven't had gudeg for quite sometime, so when a friend asked to have Gudeg Pejompongan for a lunch, I just followed with it. Any meals would be okay I thought that day. Remembered months ago, my office ever ordered this gudeg as lunch boxes in an office gathering event, I did not impress with it. So we entered that old house selling Gudeg Pejompongan. There were 3 visitors queueing in front of me to order. My turn, I ordered what I like and a drink, got gudeg as per my order on a plate directly from a lady server, than went to find a table to sit. It was very warm and smell good gudeg. Delicious! Very simple nasi gudeg, very nice lunch! Would be back again sometime, but not for taking away.

Tasty and A Must
While in town, Gudheg Yogya Pejompongan is a must-visit restaurant if you love to sample gudheg, a traditional dish from Yogyakarta, consisting of white rice topped with seasoned and well-cooked jackfruits, chicken, tofu, tempe, and well-boiled egg and showered with spicy chilli sauce. The taste is beyond explanation, simply the best in town. Drawbacks includes, among others: it only serves lunch, not really clean and neat as you may expect and no air-conditioned. The restaurant used to be an old house and located at Jl. Pejompongan. Renovations are surely needed to woo more clients. Apparently until now the owner only pays attention to the quality and taste of the food which, no doubt in my mind, is the best in town. Alternatively you may consider takeaways to enjoy the food in the comfort of your air-conditioned house. Why not?
