We were looking for somewhere nice to have lunch at Bali Collection. Liked the look of Gourmet and Cafe and their concept of a retail shop selling wines, fruit and deli items for take always. Their menu prices were dearer than other similar establishments at Bali Collection. In addition, they charge 21% for service charge and government tax whereas most other cafes and restaurants in Nusa Dua and Bali Collection did not. The placemats at the table were disgustingly dirty, one was burnt on the side. I asked the waitress to give me cleaner place mats, I don’t think she understood me and came back with another set which was also dirty. The drinks were OK. My husband ordered a Chicken Fajitas with 4 very thin slices of pancake, about a tablespoon of smashed avocado and sour cream, and a tiny portion of chicken fajitas on the side. It was pathetic for what they charged. I thought I would be on the safe side and ordered a Seafood Fried Rice. Portion size for the fried rice was good, but the two prawns and a tiny piece of squid were dried and pretty chewy and inedible! Their toilet was also dirty. I should have got up and left when the table mat were so dirty and unappetising. Throughout our meal, we were inundated by flies! This is the first time we have encountered so many flies in Bali. It makes me wonder how hygienic the place is! All in all, a very disappointing experience and definitely not value for money!

Went here for breakfast this morning. Took almost 20 minutes for two coffees, however we ordered three and asked about three times and the third coffee never came.. Food took almost an hour to come out, orders were wrong although we repeated ourselves once or twice, we ended up sending a meal back which was stone cold. Not to mention we were one of three tables there and waited one hour for some eggs on toast.

Ice cold Bin Tang and Nasi Goreng
Found this Cafe at the Bali Collection on the second day of our stay in Bali. We subsequently went back several times. They have a good menu featuring international food as well as local. We thoroughly enjoyed their Nasi Goreng (rice), Mee Goreng (noodles) and mixed satay sticks. The Gorengs were $6.90 AUS approx and a stubby of ice cold Bin Tang served in a stubby holder to keep it that way $3.30 AUS approx. The manager Andica said he wanted people to feel like they were not guests but family and the staff like Sri and the others certainly made you feel that way. Music was on offer the night we went there. The Bali Connection is open from 10 am to 10pm. Store attached is very clean and sells Indonesian foods, alcohol and other gourmet treats. Well worth a visit to this Cafe.
