I was surprised to find out that there is this old restaurant here in Jakarta. Unfortunately, since I was on walking tour with Jakarta Good Guide, I didn't have the chance to try any of their menu. This place worth to visit for history lovers and Jakarta first timer, they have this Joglo house (Javanese traditional house) and have this huge courtyard. My next review unfortunately only based from what I read on various sites.

This is a great place for a quiet lunch while visiting the old town in Jakarta. It seems to be mostly neglected by tourists who head for Cafe Batavia instead. Just across the canal from the maritime museum (itself worth an extended visit) and inside a beautifully restored historical building. There is a spacious courtyard with tables on the wide shady verandah. Service is good and prices very reasonable. My vegetarian son had great gado-gado and I had the excellent sop buntut (oxtail soup served with rice and chilli relish). I am particularly fond of sop buntut and have sampled it at many places in Jakarta but this was the best. Highly recommended.

Delicious vegetarian gado-gado!
Enjoyed a peaceful and reasonably priced vegetarian lunch here (45,000 IDR inc. bottled water and service), seated in a pretty courtyard.
